High-Tech Gründerfonds Management GmbH. (12/13/11). "Press Release: HTGF, Bayern Kapital and Dr. Dieter Manstein Invest in GME Medical Engineering GmbH". Bonn, Landshut & Nürnberg.

The High-Tech Gründerfonds, Bayern Kapital and Dr. Dieter Manstein invest € 750.000 in the development of a new generation of laser and light systems for dermatological applications.

Laser and light systems are used worldwide by a growing number of dermatologists and plastic surgeons to treat skin diseases and for aesthetic applications. GME German Medical Engineering GmbH ("GME") is developing a new generation of systems that are easy to use, powerful, portable and therefore suitable for a wide range of users.

The key feature of these devices is the implementation of the laser beam source in the handpiece. By eliminating the glass fiber or articulated arm the devices feature more robust as well as significantly smaller and lighter characteristics.. Service technicians are no longer required to transport or install the devices. GME devices are well suited for use in developing countries.

Dr. Martin Pfister, investment manager of High-Tech Gründerfonds, and Dr. Nathalie Weitemeyer, senior investment manager at Bayern Kapital, emphasized: "The benefits of GME technology are obvious. The experienced team and the planned dermatological lasers' promising innovation and market potential - due to their superiority over other systems - were very convincing for us."
