CRP-Santé (Public Research Center for Health Luxembourg)
About CRP-Santé - Luxembourg Clinical Proteomics (LCP) CRP-Santé employs 200 researchers and 50 support staff, working on some hundred research projects which resulted in 98 peer-reviewed publications in the year 2009. Its annual budget is currently around 35 million Euros, increasing each year. CRP-Santé actively interacts with multiple international collaborations, the most relevant in the context of current proposal being the partnerships with TGen Foundation in Phoenix, Arizona (www.tgen.org) and with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington (www.fhcrc.org). CRP-Santé is a young research organisation with highly qualified personnel working in multidisciplinary teams with strong integration of laboratory, clinical and public health research. CRP-Santé's research focus is on health topics with high impact on the European population. The research units have state-of-the-art equipment in emerging fields of biomedical research and increasingly develop a market orientation aiming at commercial and clinical valorisation. Luxembourg Clinical Proteomics (LCP) was created in December 2009 and has been funded by the Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), with a start-up grant of 5 million Euros and a development plan for the next five years. A research group in is being recruited to launch the Luxembourg Clinical Proteomics Initiative in the next couple of months. Bruno Domon, Head of the Luxembourg Clinical Proteomics Initiative (LCP) is relocating from ETH-Zurich (Prof. Ruedi Aebersold group) and has a wide scientific experience in academia: University of Lausanne, MIT Cambridge MA, University of Lille, France; and ETH Zurich) and in the private sector: Ciba/Novartis, Basel; Biogen, Cambridge MA; and Celera Genomics, Rockville MD.
